NovaMind has powerful project/task related reporting built in. To access the project reports, click on the Project Reports in the Task Information panel.
The window looks like this:
The combinations of searches you can accomplish using this panel is very extensive, so we will just go through some examples.
To search for all the tasks you are tracking the progress of, but which are incomplete, you could put a check in the Complete checkbox and leave the selection to No. Conversely, if you wanted to see all the tasks that were complete, you would select Yes.
If you wanted to see all the tasks that were assigned to Tania, but were overdue, you would select the Overdue / Yes options, and the Selected Resources and select Tania's name. If you also wanted to include Heather's overdue tasks, you could hold the Control key and select Heather too.
To see the tasks that are currently partly done, you would select the In Progress / Yes options.
And so on - the individual options are pretty self explanatory, and the combination of the options gives you very powerful search capabilities.
In the bottom part of the window you have the search results. To order the results by one of the fields, just click on the title for that field, and to reverse the sorting, click the title again, and to remove the sorting, click it a third time. - for example in the picture above, we have the tasks ordered by priority.
You can also group the results by any of the columns or by a combination of the columns. To group by a column, just drag the column to the header of the table. For instance, if you wanted to group by priority, you would drag that column header to the title area. Now if you wanted to group within the priority by duration, you would drag that column header as a sub-grouping on the title bar of the table. You can rearrange the levels of grouping by dragging the items around in the title bar, and remove the grouping by dragging the items off the title bar.
You can select one or more of the tasks that are returned as a result of your search and they are selected on the Mind Map.
You can leave this panel open, but the results are not updated live - if you have the panel open and you change the Mind Map, you will need to click the Refresh button. |
